Do I need an accountant?
Self-employment is the dream of many. Being your own boss, no stiff working hours and the possibility of dynamic development and higher earnings - these are the main reasons why more and more people are choosing to start their own business.
As a beginning entrepreneur, you won't be the best in every field. Therefore it is important to set priorities and to delegate responsibilities to the others. Especially important matters, which, if neglected, may have negative consequences.
Many people starting their business want to reduce expenses and decide to do their accounts. It is not a bad idea - a good entrepreneur should have at least minimal knowledge of economics and taxes, it is worth to devote a lot of time to these issues.
Providing own company is a huge responsibility. Decisions taken at the very beginning may generate higher losses than the funds that would have been spent on accounting services. That is why you should consider the assistance of professional, at least at the beginning. This support will allow you to focus on other key aspects of your business.
So, do you need an accountant?
Not necessarily, if you are a conscientious, patient person and you know how to sift the information on the Internet - there are plenty of them, some of them are out-of-date, some of them are incorrect - and you just feel like trying to do youur accounts by yourself. However, consider cooperating with an accountant, who will randomly check your records.
Necessarily, if you don't feel confident around finances, you don't understand bookkeeping or you don't have time for it and you prefer to develop your company or you would like to outsource it all to someone else.
Then you should get yourself an accountant, it remains only to choose someone wisely.
